hiya iam writing this guide for other ebay users to make them aware of what can happen when you buy from abroad.
I recently purchased some action figures from America for 58.99 plus 10.99 postage and packing and an additional 1.50 insurance.Imagine my horror when i recieved a letter from parcel force asking my for an extra 13.49 vat and 8.00 parcel force clearance fee.This is to do with customs charges.I had no idea that you had to pay this sort of thing if you buy from anywhere outside the the EU.Apparently it is worked out by how much the parcel is worth.If the value is under 25.00 you wont be charged vat,but if its over this the VAT is worked out accordingly.So buyers please be AWARE your goods could end up costing you more than you bargained for!
